Notes: Arrived weighing approximately 370 pounds and redshirted in 2006. Played all 14 games in '07, making four starts at right tackle. Started 10-of-12 games at right tackle in '08. Started all 27 games at right tackle 2009-10. Played through a strained left hamstring injury as a junior and a left wrist injury as a sophomore. Team captain.
Positives: Has a good build with a long torso, exceptional size and outstanding arm length. Stood out against Georgia and will battle against better competition. Uses his length well to position and sustain.
Negatives: Plays upright and a bit top-heavy. Lacks lower-body strength and legs tend to crinkle and too often give out when he gets hit. Too much of a plodder - very deliberate in his movement. Lacks power in his body. Marginal foot quickness, agility and body control. Cannot work up to the second level easily. Average instincts and awareness - is late to see and react to the blitz. Weight was as high as 375 pounds early in his career. Came off as too passive in team interviews.
Summary: Right tackle only who came on strong late in the season, showed well vs. Georgia and caught some attention at the East-West Shrine Game.
